This IS IT! I know most of you signed up for this course wanting to know the ins and outs of submitting claims. Hopefully, what you’ve learned is that there is both pre-work and post-work involved in the billing life cycle. My goal is to make sure you have the knowledge and skills necessary to manage or oversee the entire process.
So, let’s talk about claims. I am going to go over the CMS-1500 claim form (sample) because I think its the easiest way to teach you how to submit claims. If you can submit a paper claim then submitting an electronic one is easy peasy. Well, electronic claims submission will come down to the claims submission tool you choose. We can talk about that as well.
I can speak intimately about how to submit claims in Availity and TherapyNotes. However, I have located resources on how to submit claims via some of the other clearinghouses that I know are popular. Is yours included? If not, let’s talk about it in the group.
